[1] PETITION FOR APPOINTMENT OF GUARDIAN [2] PETITION FOR SPECIAL IMMIGRANT JUVENILE FINDINGS

TENTATIVE RULING: Both Petitions are CONTINUED to September 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in Dept. 6 to allow Petitioner to remedy the following issues:

With respect to the Guardianship Petition, 1. There is no Health and Human Services (HHS) screening report in the file. (Prob. Code § 1516.) The Court notes that a proposed order to HHS (Local Form GU-3) has not been submitted for the Court’s signature. Petitioner must submit the proposed order, serve the signed order on HHS, and file a Proof of Service on HHS prior to the continued hearing.

2. There is no Parental Notification of Indian Status (ICWA-020 Form) on file.

This is the first continuance of the matter.

Guardianship of Joseph Matthew Reggiardo, Jr. 26PR000140

PETITION FOR APPOINTMENT OF GUARDIAN OF MINOR’S ESTATE

APPEARANCE REQUIRED. The Court has questions concerning a portion of the Minor’s estate referenced in the Court Investigation Report which is omitted from the petitioning papers; specifically, a monthly payment of $2,000. (See Pet., § 7; see Initial Investigation Report.) As the estimated value of the Minor’s estate determines the proper amount of bond to be posted (see Prob. Code, § 2320) and/or the amount to be deposited in a blocked account (see Prob. Code, § 2328), it is important for the Petition to accurately reflect the value of the estate. As such, a continuance will likely be necessary to allow Petitioner to file an Amended Petition (GC-210 Form). The Court also notes that the Letters (GC-250 Form) are not signed by Petitioner.
