July 10, 2026, Probate Tentative Rulings
1. CU0001483 Susan Gabrielle, Formerly Known As Susan G. Turner-Conlon Vs. Phillip G. Conlon, Jr No appearances are required. In light of the parties joint statement, the Court continues the review hearing to August 21, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., in Department 6. The parties shall submit a joint review hearing statement two weeks prior to the continued review date.
2. CU0001787 Carol Lynn Hills v. State of California No appearances are required. On its own motion, the Court continues this matter to October 19, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., in Department 6, and sets an order to show cause hearing for the same date and time. Plaintiff shall show cause why she should not be sanctioned or this matter dismissed for failing file a proof of service, an application for service by publication (as appropriate), or a request for dismissal of Defendant as ordered by the Court on February 2, 2026. The clerk shall serve notice of the order to show cause.
3. P06-14433 In the Matter of Kayla Elizabeth Larsen Appearances are required. Conservator Mary Larsen shall be prepared to update the Court on her desire to remain as Conservator in light of her statements made to the Court Investigator during the Biennial Review.
4. P15-15861 In the Matter of Shane Krulisky No appearances are required. The Court has not received the investigation review report and continues this matter to October 2, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., in Department 6. The Clerk shall provide a copy of the minutes to the Court Investigator. The Clerk shall also telephonically notify the Court Investigator.
5. PR0000904 In the Matter of Barbara Martinez Appearances are required. Before the Court is the October 7, 2026, petition of trustee Barbara Martinez for an order to produce information for accounting and for other relief. The Court must learn whether the petition will be opposed and, if so, when a written opposition will be filed.
If the petition is opposed, the Court is inclined to order the parties to attend mediation, with costs of the same to be paid by the trust, pursuant to Probate Code section 17206 and Breslin v. Breslin (2021) 62 Cal. App.5th 801, 806 (“The probate court has the power to order the parties into mediation.”).
6. PR0000934 In Re Patricia Francis Stone No appearances are required. The petition for appointment of probate Conservator of the person and estate is denied. A conservatorship for the proposed Conservatee has already been established in case PR0000819 and letters have issued.
Additionally, this petition has deficiencies which Petitioner still has not corrected. There is no proof of service of the citation and the notice has not been timely served on all
required parties at least 15 days prior to the hearing.
7. PR0000967 In the Matter of the Estate of Kent Thomas Edwards, Deceased No appearances are required. The Petition to Determine Ownership of Property and for Reimbursement of Preservation Expenses is denied. The Court notes that Petitioner has failed to cure the notice issues raised by the Court on April 10, 2026. Here, notice has not been properly provided to each person claiming an interest in the property. (See Cal. Prob. Code 851).
Additionally, the objection raised by the Nevada County Public Administrator is well taken. It appears this issue has been previously litigated in Placer County, where the Court denied a similar request. This Court need not review that decision.
8. PR0000969 In the Matter of Jack E. Green Appearances are required. The parties shall be prepared to update the Court on the status of their mediation.
9. PR0000971 In the Matter of Catherine Gerstung Appearances are required. Before the Court is a petition for appointment of a conservatorship, as well as a Petition for appointment of temporary conservatorship. The petition for temporary conservatorship seeks to change the proposed conservatee’s residence. Pursuant to Cal. Probate Code 2253, the Court seeks an update from the Court Investigator. Additionally, the Court seeks an update from Conservatee’s counsel on these requests.
10. PR0001024 In the Matter of Henry Joseph Ramos, Jr. No appearances are required. The Court has not received the investigation report and continues this matter to October 2, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., in Department 6. The Clerk shall provide a copy of the minutes to the Court Investigator. The Clerk shall also telephonically notify the Court Investigator.
11. PR0001028 Estate of Kent Thomas Edwards No appearances are required. The petition to administer is granted and letters shall issue. The Nevada County Public Administrator is appointed as administrator. A proposed order has been submitted.
