Ruling

If no proof of publication is filed, the matter will be CONTINUED to August 04, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. in Dept. A to provide any publisher time to file the POP.

In The Matter of Ellenor Kathleen Braddon Harkin 26CV000747

PETITION FOR CHANGE OF NAME

APPEARANCE REQUIRED.

The Proof of Publication in the Court’s file (POP) shows that only one name was published: Ellenor Kathleen Braddon Harkin. Thus, the Court is authorized to change the name Ellenor Kathleen Braddon Harkin to Ellenor Kathleen McHarrie.

This matter came on originally for hearing on June 2, 2026. Petitioner appeared and informed the Court that she would like her new name to contain a hyphen. The Court noted that it could not do so based on the POP and continued the matter to permit Petitioner to re-publish. Republication requires Petitioner to obtain a new Order to Show Cause. However, neither a new Order to Show Cause, nor a new POP appear in the Court’s file.

Petitioner is, therefore, directed to appear to inform the Court as to how she would like to proceed. Petitioner is also encouraged to consult with the Court’s Self-Help Center, located on the lower level of the Historic Courthouse at 825 Brown Street, for assistance with the matter.

In the Matter of Sara Perez 26CV001110

PETITION FOR CHANGE OF NAME

TENTATIVE RULING: An Order to Show Cause for Change of Name (OSC) was entered in this matter on May 27, 2026. Petitioner is required to publish the OSC in the manner set forth in Code of Civil Procedure, section 1277. However, there is no proof of publication (POP) in the Court’s file. If one is filed before the hearing, the petition will be GRANTED without need for appearance.

If no proof of publication is filed, the matter will be CONTINUED to August 04, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. in Dept. A to provide any publisher time to file the POP.
