NOTICE:
The Sacramento Superior Court is transitioning operations from the Gordon D. Schaber and Hall of Justice buildings to the new Tani G. Please take notice, effective April 13, 2026, Department 54 will move to Department 16C at the Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye Courthouse. The Honorable Christopher E. Krueger remains presiding over all Home Court proceedings, including Case Management and Law & Motion. All hearings currently scheduled or reserved after the effective date shall remain in place and will be heard in Department 16C.

Pro per Plaintiff Adam Jacobs motion to strike portions of Defendants Anwar Ameen and Niran Ameen, Mustafa Zahid, and Muna Fahmis answers is DENIED as untimely.
A motion to strike must be filed within the time allowed to respond to a pleading. (Code Civ. Proc. §435.) The time for responding to an answer is 10 days after service. (Code Civ. Proc. § 430.40.)
Anwar Ameen, Niran Ameen, and Muna Fahmis answers were mail-served on November 7, 2025. Thus, absent any extension, the deadline to file the instant motion was November 22, 2025 (10 days + 5 days for mail service).
Mustafa Zahid mail-served his answer on November 13, 2025. Thus, absent any extension, the deadline to file the instant motion was November 28, 2025 (10 days + 5 days for mail service).

Plaintiff did not file this motion until December 22, 2025.
Code of Civil Procedure section 435.5(a)(2) provides . . . If the parties are unable to meet and confer at least 5 days before the date the motion to strike must be filed, the moving party shall be granted an automatic 30-day extension of time within which to file a motion to strike, by filing and serving, on or before the date a motion to strike must be filed, a declaration stating under penalty of perjury that a good faith attempt to meet and confer was made and explaining the reasons why the parties could not meet and confer."
Plaintiff filed a declaration regarding his meet and confer efforts on December 22, 2025 after the deadline to file the motion to strike.
Moreover, as previously mentioned, Mustafa Zahid, and Muna Fahmi are also appearing in pro per. Neither have consented to electronic service per Code of Civil Procedure section 1010.6(c) and Cal. Rules of Court Rule. 2.551. As a result, to the extent Plaintiff has electronically served these defendants, such service may be defective.
This minute order is effective immediately. No formal order or other notice is required. (Code Civ. Proc. §1019.5; CRC Rule 3.1312.)

Parties requesting services of a court reporter will need to arrange for private court reporter services at their own expense, pursuant to Government code §68086 and California Rules of Court, Rule 2.956. A Stipulation and Appointment of Official Reporter Pro Tempore (CV/E-206) is required to be signed by each party, the private court reporter, and the Judge prior to the hearing, if not using a reporter from the Courts Approved Official Reporter Pro Tempore list.
Once the form is signed it must be filed with the clerk. If a litigant has been granted a fee waiver and requests a court reporter, the party must submit a Request for Court Reporter by a Party with a Fee Waiver (CV/E-211) and it must be filed with the clerk at least 10 days prior to the hearing or at the time the proceeding is scheduled if less than 10 days away. Once approved, the clerk will forward the form to the Court Reporters Office and an official reporter will be provided.
