As the proposed ward will turn 21 prior to the one year review date, the petitioner is not directed to file the Confidential Guardianship Status Report, GC-251, within one year from the date of the order, and the guardianship will terminate by operation of law on the ward’s 21st birthday. TENTATIVE RULING: Appearances are not required. The Court has received the status update and request to continue the guardianship case filed by the petitioner. As a court with superior jurisdiction has accepted that jurisdiction, the guardianship petition is indefinitely deferred. Accordingly, the petition is DENIED without prejudice. If/When the alternate proceedings conclude, the petitioner is invited to renew the petition for guardianship if still appropriate.
