LUNA) 11) 12 REQUEST FOR ORDER CHANGE OF MINOR CHILD'S NAME 13 TENTATIVE RULING 14 Having read and considered the pleadings, declarations, and other evidence submitted in this matter, the 15 Court makes the following findings and orders: 16 A. Procedural History 17 1) The parties are Petitioner, Rueben Alvarado (Father) and Respondent, Luz Marina Aguilera 18 (Mother).
The minor children subject to this proceeding are Camila Yareli Aguilera (DOB 19 08/05/21). 20 2) On May 1, 2026, the Court granted Father’s request to change the minor child’s name to Camila 21 Yareli Alvarado Canales. 22 3) On May 27, 2026, Mother filed a Request for Order seeking a name change because she stated 23 neither her name, nor the child’s name has ever been “Canales.” Mother requested the minor 24 child’s name be reflected as: Camila Yareli Aguilera-Alvarado. 25 4) On July 2, 2026, Father filed a Responsive Declaration to Mother’s request, which has been read 26 and considered by the Court. 27 B.
Findings and Order 28 1) The Court vacates its prior order entered on May 1, 2026, which erroneously added the name 29 “Canales” to the minor child’s name.
1 2) The Court GRANTS Mother’s request to change the minor’s name to add (hyphenated) Father’s 2 last name. 3 3) The minor child’s name is hereby changed from Camila Yareli Aguilera to Camila Yareli 4 Aguilera-Alvarado. 5 4) The Court shall prepare the Findings and Order After Hearing. 6
