Conservatorship of James Leonard

CASE NUMBER: 26PC-0033346 This matter is on calendar for further proceedings on a Petition to Appoint Temporary Conservator of the Estate. A new Notice of Hearing has not been filed and served for today’s date. There is no proof of service of the Notice of Hearing and Petition for any parties entitled to notice. The Petition to Appoint Temporary Conservator is DENIED.

This matter is also on calendar for hearing on a Petition for Appointment of Conservator of the Estate. The matter has been properly noticed, with proof of service on file. The Citation has been filed with proper proof of service. Counsel has been appointed for the Conservatee. No objections have been raised. The Capacity Declaration has been reviewed and is accepted by the Court. The Court has reviewed the Court Investigator’s report filed on May 5, 2026, which recommends granting the Petition.

The report states that the Conservatee will not attend the hearing. The Court intends to GRANT the Petition absent an appearance and objection as noted below. A proposed Order was submitted and will be executed. The matter will be set for Monday, November 16, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. in Department 44 for confirmation of filing the Proof of Service of Notice of Conservatee’s Rights (Form GC-341), Conservatorship Care Plan (GC-355/GC-356), Inventory and Appraisal (Form GC-040), and proof of service of the Notice of Filing of the Inventory and Appraisal (Form GC-042).

The matter is set for Monday, July 12, 2027, at 2:30 p.m. in Department 44 for Annual Review. The First Account and Report of Conservator will cover the time period of July 13, 2026, through, July 12, 2027, and must be filed with the Court no later than

October 11, 2027. The hearing on the First Account and Report of Conservator is set for Monday, October 18, 2027, at 2:30 p.m. in Department 44. An appearance is necessary on today’s calendar only if there is an objection by the Public Defender’s office.
