In the Matter of Eleanor Shockley

Minor’s Compromise Petition

Hearing Date: June 12, 2026 (continued from April 24, 2026)

After reviewing the unopposed minor’s compromise petition filed by Michelle Why, as the guardian ad litem for nine-year-old Claimant Eleanor Shockley (“Claimant”), the Court hereby GRANTS the petition. The Court will sign the proposed orders approving the balance of Claimant’s net settlement proceeds totaling $6,905.86 and authorizing the deposit of these funds into an FDIC-insured blocked account, with withdrawal only permitted upon Court approval.

The matter is scheduled for a hearing on September 18, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. in Department 14 to dismiss the case and to present proof of the Claimant’s deposited funds. Unless the Court orders otherwise, no appearance is required at the September 18 hearing if proof of deposit and dismissal are filed with the Court before then. [Super. Ct. Monterey County, Local Rules, rule 4.39.]
