Procedural History 18 1) The parties are Petitioner Anita Richardson (Mother) and Respondent Jessye Powell (Father). 19 They share one minor child: Noah Powell (DOB: 07/08/15). 20 2) On March 19, 2026, Father filed a Request for Order seeking modification of the existing child 21 custody and visitation orders. Father seeks sole legal and sole physical custody. It is unclear to the 22 Court what orders Father is requesting regarding parenting time for Mother. Father also seeks 23 termination of the existing child support order, alleging the child resides with him full time. 24 3) On April 20, 2026, the Court referred the parties to Family Court Services (FCS) Mediation on 25 June 2, 2026, and set the matter for return hearing on June 11, 2026. 26 4) On 04/11/26, Mother filed a Responsive Declaration in opposition to Father’s Request for Order. 27 Mother asks the Court to deny Father’s requested relief.
Mother indicates that the child is not 28 with Father and is actually with paternal grandmother. Mother also alleges she has stable 29 housing, and the child is able to continue to have parenting time with her. It appears that Mother
1 is asking the Court to order Father to have parenting time every other weekend from Friday after 2 school to Monday morning drop off at school. 3 B. Findings and Order 4 1) This Court has jurisdiction to make child custody orders in this case under the Uniform Child 5 Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act. A violation of this order may subject the party in 6 violation to civil or criminal penalties, or both. The country of habitual residence of the minor 7 child(ren) is the United States. 8 2) The parties are ordered to appear. 9
