Procedural History 17 1) The parties are Petitioner Stefan E.
Adler (Father) and Respondent Jennifer Rosedail (Mother). 18 They share two minor children (twins): Hugo Adler (DOB: 7/4/13) and Mose Adler (DOB: 19 7/4/13). 20 2) On 4/17/26, Mother filed a Request for Order asking the Court to order Father comply with a 21 Seek Work Order and undergo a vocational evaluation at Mother’s expense. Mother asserts that 22 Father has 22 years of work experience as senior paralegal at “at well-established ‘white shoe’ 23 law firms and a big five consulting firm” and landlord managing and repairing the parties’ rental 24 properties.
Mother states Father left his former employer between 2009 and 2010 without an 25 agreement from Mother to support him indefinitely. Mother believes it is in the children’s best 26 interest to earn an income to support them. Mother attached a proposed Seek Work Order to her 27 Request for Order. 28 3) On 5/29/26, Father field a Responsive Declaration to Mother’s Request for Order. It is Father’s 29 position that since 2010 he has not received a salary because he was the primary parent and acting
1 as the property manager for the parties’ numerous rental properties. Father states he previously 2 agreed to submitting to a vocational evaluation and does not believe Mother’s motion is necessary 3 as he already met with a vocational evaluator – Ms. Trustin – and is actively engaged in working 4 with her. It is Father’s position that the Seek Work Order is premature without the vocational 5 evaluation being completed. Father asks the Court to continue the matter after the 7/24/26 6 Mandatory Settlement Conference. 7 4) On 6/4/26, Mother filed a Reply Declaration reiterating Father’s duty to support his children. 8 Mother asserts that Father does not provide any care to the parties’ adult child, Elvis, who is 9 permanently disabled and requires a high level of care.
Mother disputes that Father is the primary 10 parent of the twins. 11 B. Findings and Order 12 1) Family Code section 3900 proscribes the duty of both parents to support their minor children. 13 Further, Family Code section 4053 sets forth the principle that this duty is a parent’s “first and 14 principal obligation.” 15 2) As such, the Court finds good cause to adopt Mother’s proposed Seek Work Order, which is 16 attached hereto and incorporate herein, effective 7/1/26. 17 3) Counsel for Mother shall prepare the Findings and Order After Hearing, which shall include as an 18 attachment Mother’s proposed Seek Work Order. 19 4) Preparation of Order: If you are directed by the court to prepare the order after hearing – within 20 10 calendar days of the hearing you must either: (a) Serve the proposed order to the other 21 party/counsel for approval, and follow the procedures set forth in CA Rules of Court, Rule 22 5.125(c), or (b) If the other party did not appear or the matter was uncontested, submit the 23 proposed order after hearing directly to the court.

3. You must bring the signed, original weekly logs and all paperwork/correspondence related to your job search to court with you. Copies of all paperwork/correspondence related to your job search must be available for review if requested by opposing party within 10 days of request.
4. If you find work before the next court date, you must notify opposing party and counsel (if any) and (if checked)(_J the Department of Child Support Services (DCSS), in writing within ten days, providing name, address, and telephone number of employer, salary or wage level, job title, copies of any employment contract, hiring letter, or employment agreement, and first month's paycheck stub upon receipt.
5. The court reserves jurisdiction to retroactively modify support to the earliest date permitted by law, and to impose sanctions for any failure to comply with this order, including imputing income.
{<3 SPOUSAL SUPPORT: It is the goal of this state that each party will make reasonable good faith efforts to become self-supporting as provided in Family Code §4320. The failure to make reasonable good faith efforts may be one of the factors considered by the court as a basis for modifying or terminating spousal or partner support.
