Petition for Guardianship
As the proposed ward will turn 21 prior to the one year review date, the petitioner is not directed to file the Confidential Guardianship Status Report, GC-251, within one year from the date of the order, and the guardianship will terminate by operation of law on the ward’s 21st birthday. Absent objection, the Request for Special Immigrant Juvenile Findings is GRANTED and the Court will sign the proposed order submitted by Petitioner. Further advisements which are not part of tentative ruling: If any objections are filed at or before the time of hearing, the Court will not adopt the tentative ruling and will, instead, set the matter for a contested hearing and the parties will be notified by the Court as to when they should next appear.

TENTATIVE RULING: Appearances are not required. The Court has received the status update and request to continue the guardianship case filed by the petitioner. As a court with superior jurisdiction has accepted that jurisdiction, the guardianship petition is indefinitely deferred. Accordingly, the petition is DENIED without prejudice. If/When the alternate proceedings conclude, the petitioner is invited to renew the petition for guardianship if still appropriate.
