May 18, 2026, Case Management Conference Tentative Rulings

The following tentative rulings are issued by Commissioner Robert Brodnik.

1. CL0003098 A.J Kirchner v. Conner Turner Appearances are required. Plaintiff shall show cause why he should not be sanctioned or this matter dismissed for failing file a proof of service or an amended proof of service as ordered by this Court on November 10, 2025.

2. CL0003340 Midland Credit Management Inc. vs. Sean Oliver Appearances are required for status regarding dismissal. If the parties wish the court to retain jurisdiction, they should file a written stipulation under Code of Civil Procedure section 664.6 or state their agreement regarding the same on the record.

3. CL0003480 JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. vs. Daisy Bisiaux No appearances are required. The Court has received a request for dismissal. This matter is dismissed without prejudice.

4. CU0001760 In the Matter of County of Nevada v. Craig Hufnagel No appearances are required. On the Court’s motion the case management conference is continued to August 31, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., in Department 6 to permit additional time for a compliance agreement to be executed.

6. CU0001901 Heather Miles v. Michael Smallwood Appearances are required. Defendant Michael Smallwood shall show cause why trial should not proceed without him, and why Plaintiff’s motion for an order deeming matters admitted against him should not be granted.

7. CU0002038 Brian Smart, et al. vs. Testate and Intestate Successors of Nick Swago (Deceased) No appearances are required. A default prove up hearing is set for July 19, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., in Department 6.

8. CU0002046 Glenn Kalaveras, et al. vs Kelly Purves No appearances are required. On its own motion, the Court continues the case management conference to August 31, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., in Department 6. Defendant Kamaljit Takhar shall file a responsive pleading, or Plaintiff shall file a request for default (as appropriate) or request for dismissal of Defendant at least two weeks prior to the continued case management conference.
