Set for Law and Motion/Discovery Calendar on Thursday, June 25, 2026, Line 5. Plaintiff Nozipho Becker, PhD's Motion To Continue Action Pursuant To CCP 377.31 And Substitute Plaintiff Nozipho Becker, Ph.D., Deceased, With Personal Representative Gabriel Becker is GRANTED.
Plaintiff moves under Code of Civil Procedure section 377.31: "On motion after the death of a person who commenced an action or proceeding, the court shall allow a pending action or proceeding that does not abate to be continued by the decedent's personal representative or, if none, by the decedent's successor in interest." The motion must be accompanied by certain information, including a sworn declaration under section 377.31.
Good cause appearing, an appropriate showing under Code of Civil Procedure sections 377.32 having been made and the requirements of Code of Civil Procedure sections 377.31 having been met, the court grants the motion. The court orders that the action may continue and Gabriel Becker, decedent Nozipho Becker, PhD's personal representative, shall be substituted in as plaintiff.
Moving Party must prepare a proposed order which repeats verbatim the substantive portion of this tentative ruling and email it to contestdept302tr@sftc.org prior to the time set for hearing.

Counsel for the prevailing party is required to prepare a proposed order which repeats verbatim the substantive portion of the tentative ruling and must email it to contestdept302tr@sftc.org prior to the hearing even if the tentative ruling is not contested.
