Procedural History 19 1) The parties are Petitioner Dante Smith (Father) and Respondent Ciarra Walker-Smith (Mother). 20 They share one minor child: Amun Smith (DOB: 10/21/22). 21 2) On April 10, 2026, Mother filed an Ex Parte application seeking emergency orders. In particular, 22 Mother is seeking a modification of the existing child custody and visitation orders. Mother 23 alleges that Father moved out of California with the minor child and that this has resulted in her 24 parenting time being disrupted.
The Court DENIED the temporary, emergency request and set 25 the matter for regular hearing. 26 3) On May 18, 2026, this Court held a “Readiness” hearing and set the matter for FCS Mediation to 27 occur on May 19, 2026 and set the matter for return hearing on June 23, 2026. 28 4) On May 19, 2026, the parties attended FCS Mediation and did not reach any agreements. 29
1 5) On June 16, 2026, Mother filed a Supplemental Declaration, which has been read and considered 2 by this Court. 3 6) On June 23, 2026, the parties attended another FCS Mediation session and did not reach any 4 agreements. 5 7) As of June 18, 2026, Father has not filed a Responsive Declaration to Mother’s pending motion. 6 B. Findings and Order 7 1) This Court has jurisdiction to make child custody orders in this case under the Uniform Child 8 Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act. A violation of this order may subject the party in 9 violation to civil or criminal penalties, or both. The country of habitual residence of the minor 10 child(ren) is the United States. 11 2) The parties are ordered to appear. 12
