Petition to Appoint Temporary Guardian and Guardian were filed on February 17, 2026. At the March 4, 2026 hearing regarding the Petition to Appoint a Temporary Guardianship, the court dispensed with notice to the mother but found that notice was not properly given to the father nor to the minor. The Court also found that ICWA applies and directed the proposed guardian to notice the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, which it does not appear has been done yet. The Court reviewed the investigator’s report which recommends against granting the guardianship.
